I first became aware of Jani-King through a family member who had been working with them in a different region. After learning what I could about Jani-King and the commercial cleaning industry, the opportunity to be a Master Franchisor and be licensed for my own territory certainly piqued my interest. I had grown up in a family business, and had experience in sales and management – it was just the right fit for me.
At first it was challenging and it took a lot of hard work and dedication to build the business. Support from the Jani-King National Office during my start-up and the advice and guidance from other Jani-King Regional Masters enabled me to get on my feet faster and develop my region.
Some of the best advice came from Murray Oxford, the President of Jani-King Canada. He advised that if I cared about my franchisees, and gave them all the tools they needed to be successful, then I would also succeed. Over the years, Murray has lead by example and as one of his Master Franchisees, he has continued to offer me the tools and on the going support that I needed to move my business to the next level.
It has been 11 years, and I remain dedicated to a career that I enjoy. I have seen a direct impact on my life from that bit of advice Murray offered me. I now have a lot more flexibility in what I can do, time for travel, time with my family – time for the important things.
